UPDATE: July 17th, 2008 - unfortunately it seems that this title is dead from most standpoints except the blind fanboys. We may change our viewpoint if there's more teams playing and leagues/ladders/tourneys that reach beyond small, community-based 4v4 competitions. We no longer maintain any of our previously-popular FFOW servers nor have any of our original 20+ active members playing the title. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks for stopping by - if you're here then you're interested in pursuing a competitive campaign within the world of Frontlines: Fuel of War under the Crack Clan banner.
Crack Clan was formed on May 4th, 1998 as an 18+ gaming clan which began to attract a like-minded population: Work and play, open-minded, patient, cerebral, willing and able to self-critique, able to balance gaming and real life. All these years later we find ourselves with a globally active and highly competitive membership.
Over the years we have developed techniques, tactics, strategic paradigms, organizational realizations and management experience that has led to ever-increasing performance on the battlefieldMost recently: Defeating the undefeated Digitnas at the i31 LAN (Newbury, UK) in 5v5 BF2. Jockeying for the top two spots over the last year or more in RO.. Fairly early adopters of BF1942, Desert Combat, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 in tandem with other tangential releases such as CSS, RO and COD4 has given us a broad understanding of how to run a successful campaign. We've found ourselves taking down undefeated teams in LANs, claiming top spots in leagues and ladders and generally falling in to a ten year average of being a clan that sits in the top 10th percentile of performance. Our turnover rate is remarkably low with many members having been on board for several years.
Years of experience in running online campaigns have taught us quite a few things, all of which are meant to promulgate fairness, excellence and fun.
You can expect the following:
Our initial launch timeline is as such:
Picking a clan is something that should have plenty of thought put in to it. If you have questions please contact doxClan Founder, community activist, software developer and ex-league/ladder administrator will be taking the reigns on the FFOW campaign, saying on the subject of COD4/DC/FFOW: "titles like Call of Duty miss on several points, points which Crack Clan has always held dear - the stories behind these matches are measured almost exclusively in numbers.. On the other hand recall the camaraderie and pure joy of flying in a chopper with a gunner fending off scores of enemies below while your teammates parachute from out behind, or having tank shells whizz by your head while you wrench a teammates failing armour, calling in an airstrike which is actually flown by one of your war buddies and pumping your fist in the air when he wastes an armour column that would have otherwise turned your desert crossing Humvee in to an expensive coffin.. These and many more experiences are remembered by the events, the interactions between team members and not the score. This is how we like to game, anything else is ultimately a pastime." The recruitment process at Crack Clan always begins with an indetermined amount of socializing: it's of paramount importance that you like the team and that the team likes you - so if you're ready, fill out this form or head over to our recruit forums and let's get started!
